Information about Rimini...
Rimini is a town with about 140k inhabitants, main town of the omonymous province, instituted in 1992, tearing it apart from the province of Forlì. However it became effective just in 1995 with the activation of the "prefettura".
Together with Riccione and Cattolica, Rimini is a very important destination for sea tourism in Italy and, generally speaking, in Europe (particularly thanks to german- and easter europe-born tourists). The areas named "Rimini Nord" (precisely north-west) are (north to south): Torre Pedrera, Viserbella, Viserba, Rivabella and San Giuliano Mare. This is the area that less suffered the so-called "riminisation" and, particularly in the boroughs of Viserba and Viserbella, shows many beautiful small villas from the first decades of 20th century. On this side the coast has areas of short beach, equipped and suitable for families. The water is shallow: at 1/3 miles from the coast it is just 16 feet deep. Viserba, the biggest area in Rimini Nord, is also known as the "queen of waters", due to its extraordinary water richness. "Marina Centro" is the central part of the coastal area and it hosts the most famous and elegant hotels (for instance the famous Grand Hotel, pictured in the movie "Amarcord" by Fellini). The marina area has planty of clubs like Coconuts, Turquoise, Rock Island and The Barge which, during the summer, are crowded with tourists of all ages and have substantially become open-air discotheques. Beaches in this area (which mainly extends from the free beach at marina to the estabilishment n.57/58) have large sand zones, among the largest in Europe, and very shallow waters. The areas in "Rimini Sud", precisely south-east, are: Bellariva, Marebello, Rivazzurra, Miramare di Rimini. These are typically boroughs for tourists, in the zone between the railway and the seaside. The area underwent through the so-called "riminisation" in the 60s when, without a precise regulator plan, many hotels were built one on the other. Source:(

...and about Pesaro
Pesaro is a city in the Marche, 2nd in order of population after Ancona with 92k inhabitants (2006), main town, together with Urbino, of the province of Pesaro and Urbino. It is also known as the "city of the four M" (sea, mountains, music, ceramics). The first "M" refers to the Adriatic Sea, which is here bordered by a sandy beach, appreciated both by residents and tourists. The second "M" reminds that Pesaro is embraced to north and south by two hills facing the sea, which guarantee a mild climate along the year: the "San Bartolo" on the northside (it is also a natural reserve) and the "Ardizio" hill on the southside which separates the town of Pesaro from Fano (Fanum Fortunae). The third "M" refers to the importans of the music in the life of the city: Pesaro is in fact the hometown of composer Giocchino Rossini, and his house-museum, as well as the music academy and the theatre, are worth a visit; nonetheless, each year in Pesaro the Rossini Opera Festival takes place, and it recalls hordes of lyric fans worldwide. The fourth "M", in the end, reminds the ancient tradition of ceramics, famous in the whole country and witnessed by the collections at the Civic Museums. In 2005 the city has been awarded a Blue Flag and the former President of Italian Republic Carlo Azeglio Ciampi gave the population a silver medal to civil valor. Source:(
